The Eruptions
January 8, 2000

In the lightest of gestures
I see so much meaning;
That I could only hold until,
A fiery blast so consumes me;
a shortness of breath to gasp air,
unfocused eyes and throbbing breast;
deep sojourns and tall peaks,
From a mountain and to a grave;
From the highest I loose myself,
To the deep crevasse I hide
And in this darkness that I bring myself into;
I would not overcome alone,
without my arms around you
Sobbing… Crying…
in my racking tremors
and weakening eruptions.

The Heritage
March 19, 2000

I run across a vast maze;
In search of a solitary acacia mast,
A haven to dwarf the land;
A temper to still.
Borne from sentiments of past
It solidly falls at death’s hand,
Marring the pristine growth of shaded needles;
Offering to free a view of leisurely pretties,
‘Will never again sway;
For a vow never to kneel nor bow
So proud in blood, brown grace,
Of gentle nature and quiet strength.
Brave your passions;
In seeking the peaks and abysses,
And in never ever forgetting
Lest we become unwary,
That it may all come undone.

Life
April 12, 2000

Suffer a burden too real,
Know its pain of cutting and feel its biting lessons,
that when it comes again one should flee its hold.
Never to be trapped on legs that unfold.
Dark son and daughter, run!

Missed Chances
April 12, 2000

Once in a dream so unreal,
I gathered the sighs of missed chances.
Held them all in my palms,
Still I felt the lost so heavy on limbs,
Like a sodden ton, yet I dared not blink for to loose them,
Would be to miss again.

The End of a Dream
January 29, 2000

Whenever I wake up,
and the mist of slumber still reigns,
I glance around in fear
on what this dream might be.
So compelling it beckons to dread,
that I could only feel icicles and coldness in my body.
Shivering oddly wanting it this time to be real.

The Differences to Find
April 12, 2000

I found in a difference;
And it discovered me,
In its light I found something dark,
While the darkness blinded me.

Traitor it called me
A liar and a thief.
Crying out with wonder
my heart leaped,
And my soul fell.

To kill and maim?
Like a frightened stray of shadows,
A would be a master in glory
and a slave in defeat.

A curse to who says the dark does not blind
and in its twin, one is never defeated.
In both one could be blind
and in both one could be lost forever.

The Hands
March 19, 2000

Two people making out in the cover of the night
Grabbing each other ever so tight;
Kneading and rubbing,
Throbbing and willing for each;

On silent rhythms of flesh,
Echoing the mind’s search for a sweet release.
A passion borne from within,
To a long journey that comes to a rest.

A last gasp for warm air,
In seeking a silent contentment.
So willingly given,
So small a pain to survive,

To keep the long shadows of loneliness,
In this ever temporal rites.
A silent watcher to a passionate exchange,
On cruel darkness that mars the face.

Surrendering to the last hurried caress,
An insistent pressure,
A quiet release,
only the one other could satisfy.

The Nightwalkers
December 16, 1999

I took a turn at Malate one early morn,
To a place that night has shown a darker mien.
Where one lives off the streets to sell one’s wares.
And the most who travel knew no rest.
A place where light fell never to pick itself up;
And where one would search endlessly.
Never enough, never too much,
Just barely to survive the night.
Where light illuminating the youth of its twin,
not once lightly touched this desolate place.
Where, few could be charmed to loose in the shadows,
In reminders to forget, a light and know never-ending sorrows.
To tempt in this night and to lose oneself,
In those searching eyes that would not let me rest,
In the covered canopies and the damp corners
On hurried passions and wanton sex .
I curse the night that teases me,
Bullies my body and tempts my soul,
To add shades to their sad plight,
Mar them again and again to a promise release.
Who says that money could offer what most seek?
A few tokens for a quickie trick.
I could walk the endless night till dawn;
But I could never look at faces,
Reflecting a hopelessness that I had not borne.
The eyes that look but not to see;
The hands that caress but not to touch,
The shivers that do not make one feel want;
The hands that take but do not to give,
The body that gives but does not nourishes itself;
The moans that mirrors man’s seeking soul,
The little promises that one whispers but will never keep;
To walk and walk the early hours of dawn ,
forgetting and yet remembering all.

The Promise
December 6, 1999
Man seeks the destiny on his own to find;
A path to choose to walk alone,
Be one with another but first seek contentment in self;
Find the truth in lies and all the lies in honesty.

The Last King
July 30, 2000

I feel the tight pain;
As if I could not swallow,
Watching the movements of a dance;
That I know I could not follow,
Steps that I don’t dare take;
A path not dared to thread,
Abandonment all too real;
Loneliness and despair,
In all these miseries I wallow.

Ang Huling Hari
July 20, 2000

Aking nararamdaman ang mahigpit na sakit;
Parang hindi ako makalunok,
Habang pinanunuod ang sayaw,
na alam kong hindi ko masusundan.
Mga hakbang at unday na ikinatatakot ko;
Isang daaning hindi-hindi ko mapupuntahan,
Kawalan ay totoo;
Kalungkutan ay ganap,
Sa lahat na ito ako’y palaging gumagapang.
